The Coode Island Cowpokes
Born under the shadow of the Westgate Bridge, the Coode Island Cowpokes ride into town on a wave of garage drenched psycho/rockabilly, surf, country and RnB sounds. After years of playing inner-city burbs and haunts such as the Tote and the Prince of Wales, as well the coast, including Apollo Bay Hotel and the Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club, the Cowpokes bring a well-travelled and eclectic mix of twang, melody and flat out riff-laden guitar originals about cattle, cars, canines, the call of the sea and just about everything in between. “Hey fellas, that was great. Big sound. Like an Ennio Morricone soundtrack with a good dose of fuzz!” Vince – a punter from the Footscray Hotel.
